Work-life balance in the Indian IT sector is a complex and often challenging issue and has been a topic of concern for quite some time. I thought it is the time I put my perspectives about this too.
As an influential businesswoman in India, I have closely observed the struggles faced by employees in this industry. Many employees report working long hours, which can lead to stress and burnout.
I have done my own analysis as to which factors are contributing to such an imbalance, and here it is:
- Many IT professionals are required to work beyond regular hours to meet project deadlines.
- The focus is often on the number of hours worked rather than the actual output, leading to inefficiencies.
- In cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, etc., infrastructure challenges and long commutes add to the daily stress of employees.
- The constant pressure to stay updated with the latest technologies and industry trends can create a sense of lagging behind peers.
What I found is a simple and effective way to achieve work-life balance
That is what we follow in my organization, Aarav Global Group, led by myself, Reena Tiwari India. We focus on creating an “Outcome-Oriented Work Environment” wherein we emphasize our employees achieving results rather than counting hours. And we found it very effective and working.
We have also trained our managers to play a crucial role in promoting work-life balance by setting realistic expectations, encouraging open communication, and supporting employee well-being.
Summarizing…
While challenges remain, the Indian IT sector is making progress in improving work-life balance. Every complex problem may have a simple solution. In my perspective, we at Aarav Global Group have effectively addressed it by adopting a rather simple approach.
